Musician Clifford Dimba, popularly known as General Kanene is recovering in hospital after he was allegedly attacked while performing in Mwembezhi East, Nampeya Ward, yesterday.
According to a statement issued by his management, the musician was campaigning for Ibrahim Kabwe Mwamba, a parliamentary candidate contesting the Mwembeshi East Constituency seat in the upcoming 2026 General Election, when he was allegedly attacked by individuals they identified as suspected UPND cadres. The management claims the attackers were armed with pangas and golf sticks.
During the incident, General Kanene reportedly sustained a head injury after allegedly being struck with a panga. He was rushed to Chawama Level I Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
His management has also dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the musician had died, describing the reports as false and confirming that he is alive and recovering in hospital.
