'FAKE’ PROPHECIES ON AUGUST POLLS CREATING TENSION, SAYS CHURCH
THE Council of Churches in Zambia—CCZ in Eastern Province has expressed concern over the rampant prophecies by some men of God on various social media platforms predicting which presidential candidate will win this year's August 13 elections.
Speaking in an interview, CCZ Provincial Chairperson Reverend Sonye Banda said prophecies have always existed, but the manner in which the messages are being disseminated is worrying.
Reverend Banda said although the prophets claim the messages are from God, they are creating tension, especially among first-time voters who are preparing to exercise their right to vote.
He has since urged members of the public to ignore any form of prophecy on social media platforms, emphasizing that people should pray for unity, peace, and for the leader chosen by God to lead and develop the country while promoting oneness.
This comes amid conflicting prophecies circulating on various social media platforms that have sparked debate among citizens.
Zambia goes to the polls in 11 days.
